It's been awhile since I've written about facial treatments at aesthetic clinics, so I thought I'd share about a newly opened clinic I recently visited at Desa Parkcity!

Located at Plaza Arkadia, Peter Ch'ng Skin Specialist clinic opened it's doors to the neighbourhood here in Desa Parkcity. It's a bit quiet at Plaza Arkadia at the moment as they have yet to fully launch the place. For now, there are a couple of cafes, boutique and beauty salons that have occupied the space there. It is not difficult to locate the clinic as it's facing the main road.
Here's a little background - Dr Peter Ch'ng is a renowned dermatologist with a practising clinic in Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The clinic at Desa Parkcity is their second branch and Dr Loo is the doctor-in-charge there at the moment.
The Interior
The interior is built is such a lovely all-white-minimalistic fashion, so soothing to the eyes. It gives me a certain calmness when entering the clinic and waiting for my doctor's appointment.
Treatments
Upon doctor's consultation, it is recommended that I do Microdermabrasion (3 steps), Laser Genesis & Chemical Peel (for acne spot on my chin).
Step 1: Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage and stretch marks.
Step 2: Laser Genesis
Laser Genesis is an effective treatment that eliminates fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin tone and texture, diffuse redness and scars. These results are achieved by gently heating the dermis below the skin's surface and stimulating collagen production.
I asked Dr Loo the difference between Laser Genesis versus Q-switch Nd:YAG laser. She mentioned that Q-switch laser is short pulses of waves while Laser Genesis uses long wave pulses. Comparatively, I feel that Laser Genesis is less painful and produces the same "burnt skin scent" aftermath.
This is great for busy people on-the-go who needs a quick skin fix because it does not have any down time right after 😀
Step 3: Chemical Peel on Acne Spot
A chemical peel is a treatment in which an acid solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. In performing chemical peels, physicians apply alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or phenol to the skin
Results
From the pics above, you could notice that my skin is visually clearer. However since the treatment includes my cells being more hydrated, thus my face shape looks rounded and plumper post-treatment.
As promised, there isn't any downtime and I do not feel any painful sensations at all. The treatment was really soothing, even putting me into a light sleep spell!
